Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. company, has named Randy Soutiere general manager of its new Citation Service Center scheduled to open in January in Mesa, Ariz.
Soutiere joined Cessna in 1992 as a flightline mechanic and moved into roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of quality, field service, Textron Six Sigma and customer service. His most recent position was managing process design and control, where he oversaw the Flat Rate System and ProTech Labor Program while developing and implementing lean methodologies across the Citation Service Center network.
Prior to joining Cessna, Soutiere served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita.
Soutiere has a master's and bachelor’s degree from Newman University in Wichita. He is a licensed airframe and power plant mechanic, holds a private pilot’s license and is a certified Textron Six Sigma Blackbelt.
Cessna has nearly completed construction of the new 100,000 square-foot facility at the Williams Gateway Airport. The company’s 15-acre tract there is adjacent to three 10,000-foot runways and includes a 124,800-square foot aircraft ramp. Northrop Grumman Corporation announced today that it has named Richard Leo vice president of business management and chief financial officer for its Integrated Systems Eastern Region (ISER).
In his new role, Leo will focus on all aspects of value creation, including financial analysis and planning, estimating and pricing, contract negotiation and administration, cash and asset management, rate forecasting and overhead management, cost management and performance reporting, financial reporting and portfolio development.
"Rich's strong experience in every aspect of managing contract finances will benefit not only our company and our shareholders, but also our military customers who demand value, taking our team to a new level of growth," said Tom Vice, sector vice president of Integrated Systems Eastern Region.
Prior to this appointment, Leo was director of business management for Airborne Early Warning Battle Management Command and Control (AEW/BMC-2) programs for over a decade, including contracts for such programs as the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, E-2C Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound for the United States Navy and E-2C Hawkeye for international customers including Japan, Egypt and France.
Leo joined Northrop Grumman in 1983 and has held several management positions from manager of cash management for AEW&BMC-2 to a wide range of positions within product operations. Many of those involved new business proposals for the commercial aerostructures division, as well as U.S. Navy aircraft programs. Prior to his start in Northrop Grumman, he spent three years at the Fairchild Republic Company.
Leo earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Dowling College in 1980 and a master's degree in business management in 1994. NASA announced Tuesday that William Parsons, director of the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida, is leaving the agency in mid-October to pursue opportunities in the private sector. Parsons will be succeeded by former astronaut Robert Cabana, currently director of NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.
His successor, Cabana, is a native of Minnesota. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1971 with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. Cabana is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School and has logged over 7,000 hours in 36 different aircraft.
After his selection as an astronaut candidate in June of 1985, Cabana completed his training in 1986. He has flown four space shuttle missions, serving as the pilot of Discovery missions STS-41 in October 1990 and STS-53 in December 1992, commander of Columbia on STS-65 in July 1994, and commander of Endeavour on STS-88 - the first International Space Station assembly mission - in December 1998.
Before being named the director at Stennis in October 2007, Cabana served as deputy director of Johnson. In addition, Cabana has worked as chief of NASA's Astronaut Office; manager of international operations of the International Space Station Program; director of NASA's Human Space Flight Program in Russia; deputy director of the International Space Station Program; and director of Flight Crew Operations.
"Bob Cabana is long-time colleague, and another whose marine training has redounded to NASA's benefit," Griffin said. "Bob has seen it all and done it all in human spaceflight, and done it with an open, collaborative style. There is just no better teammate. Juan Piñeiro is from Vigo, Galicia, Spain, and holds a Masters degrees in Physics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He started work at ESA's European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC), Spain, in 1991 on the joint ESA/NASA International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) and, from 1995, on the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO).
He moved to ESOC in 1998 to work as Integral Spacecraft Operations Engineer and, later, Deputy SOM. He was appointed SOM for GOCE in November 2003. Juan is married with two children, ages 4 and 5. Hawaiian Airlines today announced the appointment of Dennis “Manny” Manibusan as the company’s vice president of maintenance and engineering, effective October 13.
Manibusan will report to Charles Nardello, Hawaiian’s senior vice president of operations, and fills the position previously held by Nardello before his promotion in October 2007. Manibusan will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, reliability and cleanliness of Hawaiian’s fleet of transpacific and interisland aircraft.
“Manny’s technical knowledge and deep experience are perfectly suited to supporting Hawaiian’s commitment to operational excellence. He also has a track record of leadership and respect within the rank-and-file that makes him an especially good fit at Hawaiian,” said Nardello.
Manibusan brings 37 years of aviation experience to Hawaiian having most recently served as senior vice president of maintenance and engineering for ABX Air, Inc. in Wilmington, Ohio, where he worked for the past 15 years. His executive and management experience also includes positions with similar responsibilities for Alaska Airlines and Continental Airlines.
A licensed commercial pilot with an A&P license, Manibusan’s background also features 26 years of service for the U.S. Air Force, having served in both active duty and the active reserves. One of his key responsibilities was overseeing 400 aircraft maintenance technicians for a fleet of 50 Air Force C-141 transport aircraft. He retired in 1997 with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Originally from Guam, Manibusan is a 1970 alumnus of St. Louis University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics with a major in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.

BAE Systems today announced the promotion of Mark Signorelli to vice president of Army Programs at the company’s Armament Systems division headquarters in Minneapolis. Prior to his new role, Signorelli served as director of Manned Ground Vehicles for BAE Systems.
As vice president of Army Programs, Signorelli will oversee a team of more than 400 engineers and program staff located in Minneapolis and Elgin, Oklahoma, and he will focus his efforts on strengthening core customer relationships and growing future business opportunities. In addition, Signorelli will continue to manage the development of major weapons programs for the U.S. Army and Department of Defense, including BAE Systems’ multi-billion dollar contract to develop high-tech, manned ground vehicles for the Army’s Future Combat Systems (FCS) program.
"For more than a decade, Mark has led teams at BAE Systems that continually raise the bar on defense contracting performance and achievement,” said Dennis Morris, president of BAE Systems’ Armament Systems division. “Mark’s proven leadership, combined with his experience as an artilleryman in the Army, will be invaluable as we continue to expand our partnerships with the Army and meet the needs of our men and women in uniform.”

Signorelli joined BAE Systems in 1997 after 21 years as a field artillery officer with the Army where he retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. QinetiQ North America has appointed Donald Hazelwood as Vice President of Unmanned Systems at its Systems Engineering Group.
Formerly the Project Manager for the U.S. Army’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), a position he held as an active-duty Army colonel, Hazelwood brings to the Systems Engineering Group more than 25 years of U.S. Department of Defense material acquisition leadership and management experience.
In his new position, Hazelwood will be responsible for the strategy, coordination and growth of the Systems Engineering Group’s unmanned systems business across all U.S. military branches and markets, including air, sea and ground. He also will support QinetiQ North America’s Technology Solutions Group in integrating advanced airborne technologies into the Group’s military robots.
“We have great confidence in Don Hazelwood’s ability to help us create added value on the technologies, services and solutions we deliver to our nation’s warfighters,” said Garrett Martz, President, Systems Engineering Group.

Boeing has appointed Fakher Daghestani as its director of corporate communications for the Middle East, with responsibility for developing the company's communications strategies and engaging with key stakeholders across the region.
For the past eight years Fakher was senior regional operations director with ASDA'A, the Middle East's largest PR agency. Prior to that he worked at Intermarkets Public Relations and also spent time as a journalist with Al Khaleej and Sharjah Television in the UAE. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the College of Arts and Human Sciences, in Homs, Syria.

Northrop Grumman Corporation announced today that it has named Donald G. Lisenbee corporate lead executive for company business with the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), headquartered in Fort Monroe, Va.
As corporate lead executive, Lisenbee will serve as the principal corporate point of contact for all Northrop Grumman business with TRADOC and will promote and coordinate the activities of all Northrop Grumman sectors supporting TRADOC business and community interests. TRADOC, which operates 33 schools and centers at 16 Army installations, serves to recruit and train soldiers, develop leaders, and support unit training. It also develops doctrine and establishes standards to help build the future Army.
"Don is an expert in military concepts and doctrine development and has substantial experience in working with high level service and joint staffs, combatant commands and government agencies," said Bob Helm, corporate vice president of government relations. "This experience will be essential, as he represents the combined capabilities of Northrop Grumman to one of our most important customers."
Lisenbee joins Northrop Grumman following a distinguished 26-year career in the U.S. Army. Northrop Grumman Corporation announced today that Karl J. Krapek, former president and chief operating officer of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), has been elected to the company's board of directors.
"Karl Krapek's industry knowledge, leadership and board experience make him an outstanding addition to our company's board," said Ronald D. Sugar, chairman and chief executive officer of Northrop Grumman. "He brings to the table a wide-ranging understanding of complex industrial operations and a track record of creating shareholder value."
Krapek retired as president and chief operating officer of UTC in 2002. At UTC, he served 20 years in various management positions, including executive vice president and a director in 1997; president and chief executive officer of Pratt & Whitney in 1992; chairman, president and chief executive officer of Carrier Corporation in 1990; and president of Operations for the Otis Elevator Company in 1989. Prior to joining UTC, he was manager of Car Assembly Operations for the Pontiac Motor Car Division of General Motors Corporation.
In 2002, Krapek became a co-founder of The Keystone Companies, which develops residential and commercial real estate.
He is a director of The Connecticut Bank and Trust Company, Alcatel-Lucent, Prudential Financial, Inc. and Visteon Corporation.
Krapek has been an active volunteer in the Hartford, Conn., area, serving as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Capitol Region Growth Council and chairman of the MetroHartford Millennium Management Group. He is vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees of Connecticut State University, for which he chairs the Board's Finance and Administration Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors at St. Francis Care, Inc., and he chairs the Hartford Youth Scholars Foundation.

Northrop Grumman Corporation has named Daniel P. Leaf vice president of strategic initiatives at its Mission Systems sector, reporting to Philip A. Teel, corporate vice president and president of Mission Systems.
In this new role, Leaf will work closely with business development, planning, division and campaign leaders to identify and promote Northrop Grumman's competitive advantages.
"Dan's strong knowledge of requirements and operations -- coupled with his NATO and air and land combat experience -- will add significantly to Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' understanding of our Air Force and joint customers," Teel said. "As the intensity of competitions for new programs grows, Dan's expertise and background will not only help us better respond to customer needs but also be instrumental in expanding awareness of the full scope of Mission Systems' C4ISR capabilities."
Leaf joined Northrop Grumman after serving more than 30 years in the U.S. Air Force. He most recently was deputy commander of the U.S. Pacific Command at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii, retiring as a lieutenant general earlier this year. Previously, Leaf served as vice commander of Air Force Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., and as the Air Force director of Operational Requirements at the Pentagon, where he directed Air Force requirements for air, space, weapons and C4ISR.
During his Air Force career, Leaf also commanded joint operations at the squadron, group and wing levels. He is a command pilot with more than 3,600 flight hours, including combat missions in operations Allied Force, Joint Forge, Northern Watch and Southern Watch. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Leaf directed the air component coordination element at U.S. Central Command's Land Component headquarters in Kuwait.
Leaf earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also an honor graduate of the U. S. Alan Lamond is new British Aviation Group Chairman.
The British Aviation Group is pleased to announce that its new Chairman will be Alan Lamond. Alan will formally take over from Malcolm Trigg at BAG's Annual Meeting on Thursday 18 September. Alan will seek to continue the work begun under Malcolm that saw BAG re-launched with a wider remit at the beginning of 2008 to encompass the interests of a broader range of companies than the previous focus on only airports.

Jahn is responsible for directing the company's financial strategy and processes in support of business growth and profitability goals. He also has responsibility for AMSEC's business management functions, such as contracts, estimating and pricing, accounting, financial reporting, planning and analysis, purchasing, rates and budgets, and program cost control.
Jahn joined AMSEC in 2002. He served as controller and has worked in positions of increasing responsibility in financial planning, capital budgeting, management of financial and accounting, and governmental accounting functions.
Jahn has more than 23 years of experience in finance, accounting, contracts, human resources and information technology. Before joining AMSEC, he served as vice president for finance and accounting for the communications engineering group at Titan Systems, and vice president for finance and administration for Advanced Communication Systems.
Jahn earned both a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's of business administration from Old Dominion University. He resides in Virginia Beach, Va.

Nommé Directeur Technique, Géry Mortreux, 42 ans, a pris ses fonctions, le 04 août 2008, au sein de la compagnie Corsairfly.
Ingénieur de l’Ecole Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aéro-technique, Géry Mortreux a fait ses premiers pas dans l’aérien chez Air Inter en 1989.
Il rejoint Air France en 1996, où il sera successivement nommé Directeur de la flotte des A320, puis de la Supply Chain, pour prendre en 2006 le poste de Vice-président de la maintenance des équipements.

A compter du 15 septembre 2008, Gérard Brohez est nommé directeur général de Turbomeca Asia Pacific. Il succède à Michel Brouquet, appelé à d’autres responsabilités au sein de Turbomeca.
Gérard Brohez, 55 ans, est ingénieur électromécanicien, titulaire d’une maîtrise en technologie spatiale obtenue à l’université de liège, Belgique.
Il a débuté sa carrière à Turbomeca en 2003 en qualité de chef du service support technique de proximité. Auparavant, il a passé 16 ans en Europe au sein de Techspace Aero (Groupe SAFRAN). Il a notamment travaillé trois ans à la SEP (Société Européenne de Propulsion), dans le domaine des lanceurs Ariane.
